Jake Roche, a former pop star and Emmerdale actor, has declared himself a “failure” after admitting he now lives in his famous mother’s garage and subsists on Universal Credit.
In light of the present cost of living problem, former Emmerdale star Jake Roche has come forward to admit that he is currently relying on Universal Credit and residing with his famous mother.
The former soap star brutally labelled himself a “failure” because he is now living a very different life than the one that brought him fame and money.
The actor played Hannah Barton’s pal Isaac Nuttal in the ITV serial for a while back in 2010.
Jake also had a successful pop career; he sang lead for the band Rixton, whose single “Me and My Broken Heart” peaked at No. 1.
The 30-year-old actor’s career has been put on hold, and he now considers himself a “failure.” His parents are actor Shane Richie and singer/TV personality Coleen Nolan.
After being asked what he’s up to these days, Jake, who was formerly engaged to Little Mix singer Jesy Nelson, spoke out about his professional life on TikTok.
The former soap star’s response was: “I live with my mom in the garage and I’m on Universal Credit. It’s my own fault that I’ve failed.”
The kind TikTok user, however, was eager to reassure Jake that he was not a failure.
For starters, let me assure you that you are not a failure, they said. “You will make it through this, just like everyone else does.
Jake beamed as he thanked you, adding, “You are a legend.”
Both the BBC musical Rules of Love and the ITV drama Scott and Bailey featured the son of Coleen Nolan.
Jake did a bit of acting in Emmerdale in 2010 before he became a singer, but he strongly objects to the notion that being the son of “Alfie Moon” provided him any sort of advantage.
A previous quote from him reads, “When I was auditioning they didn’t know who my parents were and I’d also auditioned twice before, so they obviously didn’t care or they wouldn’t have turned me down.”
