In his recently published memoir, Rylan describes the harrowing events that led to his and Dan’s divorce and how they affected his friendships.
A quote from his book reads: “Although I stayed with my ex for eight years, I neglected my friends and family throughout that period.
At times, I didn’t even prioritise my biological family. That’s what makes it so tragic. As I look back, I can see how briefly I lost touch with my Clark roots.
After six years of marriage, Rylan and his ex-policeman boyfriend announced their separation in June of last year.
For the first time in his 32 years, Rylan felt he couldn’t carry on no more after the breakup, and he tried suicide as a result.
I had lost the one thing in my life that meant the world to me. A man I cared deeply about. Own home and family. Sadly, it had already vanished.
As a result, I made an effort to put an end to it. I won’t go into specifics since I don’t want to embarrass my mother, but praise be, I failed. ”
The star of the show, who had been married for six years before it ended, withdrew from public view for five months due to his poor health following the divorce.
